Nuclear power better value than windfarms
Letter to the Daily Telegraph - Thursday, 15th April 2010
Dear Sir
Green MEP and Brighton parliamentary candidate Caroline Lucas argued this morning on the Today Programme that we should reject nuclear energy because “there are cheaper ways of cutting CO2 emissions”.
Maybe. But the fact is that nuclear-generated electricity costs less than half as much as the intermittent trickle of electricity from the wind turbines which Ms. Lucas favours. So her argument against nuclear power applies in spades to wind farms.
Yours faithfully,
Roger Helmer MEP (Con)
