Letter to the Editor
East Midlands regional newspapers - Monday 1st August 2005
Dear Sir,
Robert Kilroy Silk left the Labour Party, resigned from UKIP, and has now quit the leadership of the new party that he tried, but failed, to establish.
Although he is an East Midlands MEP, we rarely see RKS in the European parliament. We rarely see him in the East Midlands. It seems he has decided to attend the parliament just often enough to ensure he keeps getting his expenses. In other words, he has decided to take the money, but not to do the job.
In June 2004, East Midlands electors voted in good faith to make RKS one of their MEPs. He is letting them down badly.
He seems to specialise in resignation. So it is time for him to do the decent thing and resign from the European parliament.
