Daily Telegraph - Tuesday 23rd August 2005 Dear Sir There is joy in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, but it will take more than a press interview to convince many Conservatives that Ken Clarke has abandoned a life-time's commitment to the European project (lead story, August 23rd). Belatedly, he admits the obvious -- that the euro is a failure. But does he back current Conservative policy to repatriate powers in key areas from Brussels to Westminster? If he becomes Party Leader, will he guarantee to end the damaging association between Conservative MEPs and the rabidly integrationist European People's Party?
