Welcome to my Website
 | August 5th: Whisky-tasting in Norfolk: a visit to Saint George’s Distillery (www.englishwhisky.co.uk) at Roudham, Norfolk. | I hope you enjoy what you find here. It is not intended as an exhaustive information service about the EU. Rather, it's to give you pointers about my work here in the Parliament, what I'm up to in the constituency and my work with the regional press on local, national and international issues.
I was first elected in 1999 and re-elected in 2004 and again in 2009 as the local MEP for Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire & Rutland, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire. I stood on a Conservative platform to defend the national sovereignty of the UK and work for an EU of nation states, as opposed to the federal model pursued by the last Labour government. I also work to ensure that we in the East Midlands get the best we can from the EU in terms of funding and benefits. If you think that I can help you in any way, please go to the contacts page to see how to contact me, either online or by telephone.
I distribute an electronic newsletter once a month to people who want to keep up-to-date with the latest news from the Parliament, primarily to people who identify with my euro-realist views. If you would like to go on the distribution list, then please click here.
Many thanks for visiting my site.
Roger Helmer MEP
